So going into this book I wasn't quite sure how I would feel because I wasn't crazy about the Arum's from the Luxen series to begin with but I thought, "why not give it a try."My reaction was.....I'm in love with an Arum......WTF.....I seriously like them just as much as the Luxen now. How did this occur I'll tell you how.One word and one word only made this happen.......that word is Hunter!! “Holy hotness…Jeans hung low on narrow hips. Hunter’s stomach was perfection—each taut muscle tight and totally lickable. Not that I’d ever licked a man’s stomach before, but now I got why someone would want to. I was in six-pack heaven. He even had those dips beside the hip-bones…”Whew Good Lawd....everything he says....everything he does absolute perfection! He's a moody jerk and I LOVE moody jerks!!!!! He tells it like it is.....he's crude and obnoxious....mouth watering.I guess I should say something about Serena, so far I've only talked about Hunter. I liked Serena she was feisty and stood up for herself instead of cowing to his surly moods. But honestly Hunter made this book for me.“Are you going to answer my questions or just insult me? Hunter chuckled. “Possibly a little of both.”The HUGE bonus is this book isn't YA like the Luxen series.....ooooh la la my friends.....its hot and spicy!If you haven't finished Opal I would probably wait and read this one after because there is a small scene that has a little bit to do with that book.Bye everyone, go read these books people.....they are GREAT!!!

Because let's face it...who is not going to fall in love or lust with man a 6'plus, football player, body built for sin and tattoos. I mean right there is a recipe that's disastrous to any woman! "“I’ll show you how great we are going to be. Because you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met, and I’m not talking about your gorgeous face, your stunning hair or your drop-dead sexy body. I never knew it was possible to be so attracted to your best friend”Emerson is just so reluctant to share herself with Jaxon....I mean mentally not psychically.....she does just fine in that department. But Jaxon is just as determined to have everything from her.....he's fallen in lurve....and he can't help himself.He sure as hell doesn't want anyone else to have her or touch her......quite the possessive little devil;)“I don’t care what label you put on it, but you’re mine regardless. I won’t share.”Im not going to tell you anymore though because you need to read the book if you want more details than that!!!!!What worked for me in this book was, I was extremely happy not to have a sniveling virgin to read about. I seriously need a break from them!!! I also loved the secondary characters...Cole, Quinn and Jace. I was very interested in them and I can't wait for Jace's book...I think I secretly liked him better than Jaxon...sorry but true. What didn't work for me.....I'm not sure but I never felt a strong connection to either character. However I didn't not like them at the same time, just something held me back. With that being said the book was a good quick fun read for me.....it was just ok.I hope Jace will have a book.....I really really really liked him for some reason!!I found this pic after I wrote this review but it actually sums up the whole book, so I thought I'd share...Happy reading!!Buddy read with one of my fav's Vishous!!!!

As the weeks wear on these two grow closer and closer but I hope you don't think it's going to be that easy? Because it's not!!!! I forgot to say Blue is VERY stubborn and she doesn't take handouts from no one, She is so proud even though she's flat broke...she's absolutely one of my most favorite female characters....mouthy and proud!! Dean's no push over either, so watching the two of them maneuver each other is fascinating.This book is so much more than just a love story. There are family issues and trying to rebuild parental relationships that were destroyed in the past. Overcoming the emotional damage that it has caused to everyone involved.......just beautiful is all I can say!!I could ramble on about this book FOREVER but I'm not going to bore you to death. This is the second time I've read this book and I will say I LOVED it even more this time around!!!!This is one of my most favorite books EVER written!!!!!!!!!It could be read as a stand alone but I think you would benefit from reading the entire series. The rest of the series is good too but this is my fav:))))

I am yours.” Keira you may annoy most people however after reading this entire series and then rereading this book, you no longer bother me. I'm sure if I was stuck in a house with Kellan, boyfriend or not, I would NOT have lasted a day without humping his leg.....multiple times!!!!!!!Denny you however annoy me at all times.........go climb in a hole and stay THERE!!! This book is one of my all time favorites!!!!! I know Keira annoys everyone but honestly I don't think this book would be as good without her. I love all the angst and back and forth that comes with Kellan and Kiera.........it's my FAVORITE in this series! Buddy read with Blacky and Rachie! It's a re-read for me:))))))))

OMG this book was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!Yup....that was me the entire time!!!!!Everything that Drew thought...everything that came out of his mouth was hilarious!!!Now meet Drew, he has a very high opinion of himself.“See that guy—black suit, devilishly handsome? Yeah, the guy getting the blow *** from the luscious redhead in the bathroom stall? That’s me. The real me. MBF: Me Before Flu.”“Okay, maybe that’s not exactly true. Now as a lover of all things artistic, this image is now burned in my head and had me panting through most of the book....I just had to share that with you all.Isabella is a strong and beautiful woman, she's not typical for this era, she stands up for what she believes in, even from Mac. She knows how she wants to be treated as a wife and she will not accept anything less than the standard she has set. Issues arise...no I'm not going to tell you what they are... and Mac has to live with Isabella, he is determined to show her he has completely changed his life around. His painting has even suffered through all his changes, he needs his muse back and Isabella is definitely his muse. She just isn't so sure because Mac has a gypsy soul and loves to wonder about. That is until she meets Ian and everything changes for her and I do mean everything. He is just so easy to love...well I think he is anyway. She is also strong, proud and doesn't back down to no one.

So the story begins and it's is so beautiful watching the transformation in Ian. Just little things that we do everyday and take for granted he can't do.....things as simple as eye contact. So watching him learn and want to do things for Beth.....its swoon worthy!!

 

This book has it all........love, madness, sorrow, suspense, borderline crazy family, family ties, twists, sex, courtesans, and so much more. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book and I can't wait to start the next one:))

 

 

“All of us are mad in some way,” Very well said Ian, we are ALL crazy in our own way!!!!!!!!!! Each and every one of us have issues and quirks that will drive someone crazy.

 

It was very interesting to me and very real how she portrayed the views of mental illness from a stand point in 1881, even a case as Ian's which by today's standard would be considered a mild from of autism...I would think.

 

I can imagine to this very proper society it was deemed crazy and eccentric, where as we probably wouldn't blink an eye to it. If you like historical books or are willing to try one, this is the ONE to try....it's absolutely fantastic! I just can't put into words how beautiful it is but read it and find out for yourself!!!!!!

 

I'm going to put in 1 more quote that was my favorite even though it really has no meaning as to the story line other than maybe how Ian's mind works.

It's a roller coaster ride from start the very last word!!! Love me and leave.......would he do that to me? Should I put myself out there to just get hurt? So many questions which lead to so many actions and those actions I just can't talk about:)))). You'll never know until you try Emma!!! You might end up loving this bad boy!!"I want you so bad, I can't take this shit. The first night we met, it was like being hit by a tornado all over again. You entering my life was a huge event and you shook and shifted everything for me. Let me repeat myself.......THE SADDEST book I've EVER read!!!!! This book is going to be very hard for me to review because honestly, I don't like sad books....at ALL!!! So I'm going to start with a general description and then I will get to my feelings on this book.This book is about Colton and Nell. In the beginning Nell was young, a 16 year old girl, and in love with Kyle but that came to a crashing halt due to a fatal freak accident. Nell being a child herself had a very difficult time dealing with this because not only was Kyle her boyfriend but he had also been her best friend since they were children. Colton was Kyle's older brother, he left home after high school due to expectations that he couldn't meet or decided that he wasn't going to meet and made a life of his own on NYC.They meet for the first time at Kyle's funeral and they both recognize something in each other....but they aren't quite sure what that is.“But Colton is…I’m safe with him. He draws the truth out of me. He draws the pain out of me. Colton knows pain. He’s intimately familiar with it. Lives with it. Guilt too.”So they meet again accidentally in NYC, Colton is a musician and he plays for the love of music not the money and Nell just happens to see him playing in Central Park...and that's when THEIR story begins.It's a painful story on both their parts and painful for totally different reasons. They do eventually bare all their emotional baggage to one another..one sad story at a time. They end up being each others true solace and it's beautiful watching it unfold........IF you like sad books!! It really is beautiful watching them heal each other and the music ends up being their escape.“We understand each other, Nelly. We’ve both lost someone we love. We both have scars and regrets and anger. We can do this together."“...you have to be okay. You have to let yourself heal and move on. You’re stuck in the moment of his death, right now. Locked into a cycle with no way out. You have to break the cycle."My ThoughtsLet me start this by saying that this is a great book for people who enjoy THIS kind of book. The book it's self is wonderful, great story line, great characters.....I'm just the WRONG person to read it! I hate sad ass books..........and this is a tear jerker!Ok enough I'm done.........this book was sad.......sad as hell!!!!!! Nothing and I mean NOTHING went right for these two people!! When you think of a sad book you hope that maybe, just maybe in the end something will work out........and I guess one thing did for them BUT that's ALL.....one thing!!!!! Some of the book didn't even make sense to me because of the high profile careers their parents had...now I know it's fiction and if you write it well enough I don't care if aliens are buying milk at a gas station but if not...it bothers me! This particular thing bothered me, really bad!!! I'm going to stop now because part of my issue is I don't like this type of book but I will say that the book was good and I can understand why MANY people enjoyed it, however it just wasn't the book for me. That being said I gave it 3 stars because of personal preference but if you like this style of book 4-5 stars definitely! I'm not even going to tell you who recommended this book to me....but you know who you are woman!!!!! This book to me, was her Cam...just so you know:)))))))I'm glad I read this book because I know life's not always about roses and rainbows....there is pain and suffering.......but damn!!!!!I'm done.............READ it you may LOVE it!!!!!!!
