Sex Love Repeat - Alessandra Torre

Sex Love RepeatSex Love Repeat by Alessandra Torre
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

“I get that you don't understand—that you wonder how someone could possibly be aroused by the thought of something so forbidden. But often, it is the forbidden that is the hottest, and the depraved that is the most arousing”

So this is a love triangle however both men are aware of the fact that there is someone is else. But the two guys Stewart and Paul don't know each other, Madison makes sure to keep the lives very separate.

Stewart is a business suit workaholic and just doesn't have time for Madison, so he suggest she get a man that can give her a steady relationship as long as the man knows that he will STILL be in the equation also.

Now enter Paul......him and Madison meet at a roller coaster and their love life evolves from there. Paul is the
quintessential California surfer boy.... carefree and loving. Madison also loves to surf so they are perfect for each other!!

All goes great until an accident brings them ALL together and we find out something that REALLY puts a twist in this perfect threesome! It was a big wrench thrown in to mix but that's all I'm saying.

I can't tell you what that is without spoiling everything you will just have to read it and find out.

I love love LOVE triangles....they are one of my all time favorites to read about but once the "it" was revealed that I can't talk about everything was so anticlimactic from that point on. Triangles are supposed to draw HUGE emotions from the characters once they find out the other or the identity in this know what I mean like "CHOOSE me I love you, he will never love you like I can!!!!" Fist fighting maybe because they are fighting to be her only one. I hope you see where I was going with this but yea NO that didn't happen all! There was a different dynamic here than with a normal triangle, if you read it you'll understand what I mean but still at that point in the book it fell flat for me.

The first 55-60%
Amazing, hot, sexy, I was glued to this book!! Couldn't put it down!! There was scene in particular!! Ovary explosion!!!

You will have to click on the spoiler to finish this quote:)
"I want it, Madison. I want him to f*ck you in the powder room while I sit here with these stuffed shirts.(view spoiler)[ I want you to come back to this table with your cheeks flushed and his cum inside of you.” (hide spoiler)]

The last 30%
It was meh for me however I did like all the characters and I was happy with the way it ended. It was just to anticlimactic. It was kind of like this big build up then....nothing.

I think this book is definitely worth reading because I know people would love it and be completely fine with no drama....I like a little drama though...sorry:)

Carter Reed - Tijan

Carter ReedCarter Reed by Tijan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Carter Reed.....YUMMMMMMM

Carter is affiliated with mob and I don't mean loosely affiliated he's the REAL DEAL!!!! When Emma finds herself in a bad situation I say BAD lightly because what I really mean is murder, she needed help and that came in the fabulous package of Carter Reed!!!

“You did all of that for me? I would declare war for you.”

They have known each other since they were children he was her brother's best friend. However it's been years since she's seen the enigmatic Carter. What will happen, will he help her, will he protect her?!?!?!?!?!!?

Well YEA....DUH!!!!!!!

“I have been protecting you since you were a child, Emma. I’m not going to stop now.”

My thoughts

Wellllllllllll.....I think this could of been magnificent!!! Now don't get me wrong I did enjoy it but I wanted to FEEL it and I didn't quite get there. I needed or wanted to see more of Carter's ruthless side, I wanted him to bring the THUNDER...all that badassness...I wanted him unleashed!!! YUMMMMM!! I mean it happened a couple times but I would of liked more!!! I'm GREEDY what can I say!!!

I would of also liked for Emma to be more sure of herself but her character basically stayed consistent so I was ok with her in the end.....other than I think she's a bitch because, well, she got Carter Reed!!! Damn her:))))

So to sum it up I wanted to see more of Carter and get in his head...we got a few chapters in his POV but there should of been MORE!!! LOVED LOVED his character!!!!

This author is fantastic......I have liked every book by her so FAR!!!!!

I may add more to this but this is all for now:)

Avoiding Temptation (Avoiding #3) - K.A. Linde

Avoiding Temptation (Avoiding, #3)Avoiding Temptation by K.A. Linde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"People come in and out of your life all the time. They shape and mold you like clay, and then the water washes away the edges."

All of these characters....Lexi, Jack, Ramsey and John all hold a little piece of my heart. I like them ALL for different reasons and through out this series they have also pissed me off for different reasons. However I have always loved them through everything. Triangles are a tough read sometimes because she can only pick ONE...unless you get lucky with a ménage someone is going to lose! Honestly it may not be the ONE you choose but on the flip side your man MIGHT win!

Now my question is why would you rate it a 1 star just because your MAN didn't win?

We all knew that was a possibility when we started this series so why are we shocked now?

Did Lexi end up with the one I wanted?

I'm not telling because I don't want to spoiler this for anyone. If you like angsty emotional reads this series is for YOU!!!. But go into it knowing that your team may lose:(

I personally like triangles for the BIG emotions they invoke in the reader and I think this series and this book DEFINITELY delivered on that aspect.

With that said, all I can tell you is I truly love this series and this author! My heart went out to both Ramsey and Jack in this book! This series was a great emotional rollercoaster and I LOVED it and I'm soooooo happy I read it!!

Give it a chance people you might like it but remember only ONE will win here and it might not be who you choose.

Is that fair? NO but that is the kind of book this is....bottom line!

Bully (Fall Away) - Penelope Douglas

Bully (Fall Away, #1)Bully by Penelope Douglas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“You’ve already made me cry countless times.” I raised my middle finger to him slowly, and asked, “Do you know what this is?” I took my middle finger and patted the corner of my eye with it. “It’s me, wiping away the last tear you’ll ever get.”

I'll be honest when I started this book I didn't think it would live up to the hype, yea sometimes Im cynical like that.....but I was soooooo WRONG about this one!!! I started reading this book with a sour little expression on my face....thinking to myself, "yea whatever I probably won't even list it on goodreads because 2 chapters and I'll be done it can't possibly be that good."

Welllllllllllllll OMG I was soooooooooo WRONG....I know I already said that but I feel like I should reiterate it!!! This book stayed on my mind all day....I couldn't wait to get the kids to bed and start reading again! Their story draws you in and you just don't want to's that kind of book you want to finish in ONE sitting!

He's a dick....plain and simple! But he's a redeemable dick:) He has tortured Tate through most of her highschool years....even though they were best friends growing up. Did he have a reason?

Well does any bully have a reason? Not really but once it all comes out in the wash you kind of get a feel as to WHY he did it even though it doesn't excuse it. He has had a tortured past that even Tate has no clue about.....he keeps his secrets very close to his heart and he lashes out at the one he LOVES.

"Jared indulged in my misery like it was candy. He had fed me to the wolves time and again, reveling in the unhappiness he caused. Jared, my friend, was completely gone, leaving a cold monster in his place."

Tatum "Tate"
God bless that girl because she was awesome!!! She took it like a champ but then she decided she was done and it was so beautiful watching her grow a backbone!

"Isn’t it about time you fought back?"

However every time she did fight back and she DID fight back...this thought always whispered in her head...

"This is how bullies are made. A voice in my head whispered."

These 2 were beautiful together whether they were at each others throats or trying to make amends.....your heart went out to them.

Bottom line it's a GREAT BOOK!!!! Another plus is the next book in this series is written entirely in Jared's POV.......I LOVE reading the male POV's so I'm very excited to start that book!!!

So I'm getting ready to start Until You (Fall Away, #1.5) I can't wait to get in his head!!!!

Torn from You

Torn from You (Tear Asunder #1) - Nashoda Rose

Torn from You (Tear Asunder, #1)Torn from You by Nashoda Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow.....this book had everything!!

I'm not even sure how to write this review because my thoughts are all over the place!!

Emily and Logan "Sculpt"

Emily she's feisty but reserved, a horse trainer, loyal friend and determined but ends up broken and fighting to come back.

Logan AKA Sculpt he's a tatted up hottie, underground fighter, lead singer in a band, secretive, sexy and ALL alpha! Delicious!!

First 50% of the book

DARK and CRAZY!!! My eyes were about to bug out of my head I wanted to kill everyone!!! Emily is kidnapped and taken into a sex slave industry where women are treated like scum and horrible acts are being performed all around her. She's been thrown in to another world and she's losing her mind!!! She wants her knight in shining armor to come and take her away. Wellllllll he shows up but does he save her?

That's kind of a gray'll have to make your own decision on that one! He's part of this cruel disgusting world in ways you would never believe!! This book took twist and turns I never saw coming!! Half the time while reading my mouth was hanging open in disbelief!!!

Second half of the book

I have to be careful here not to give to much away but this second half was totally different than the first. It occurs 2 years later and Emily is still trying to put the pieces of her life back together. She's trying to heal and focus on her dream of training and saving abused horses.

Then HE walks back into her life..the HE of course would be Logan and he wants ONE thing for Emily to love him again. But that's easier said than done because she can't get over the past.

And this my friends is where the love story begins!! The second half of this book was soooooo CRAZY good!! I loved watching these two fabulous characters rebuilding themselves. It wasn't easy and I loved it more for that reason!

The Secondary Characters

Out of this WORLD fabulous!!!!! I loved them all sooooo much and I'm dying for all of them to have books of their own. Logan is in a band and his band members are all laugh OUT loud funny!! There is also Kat and Matt they are siblings and also Emily's pseudo family and her best friends. They are both fabulous and witty I loved them also. See where I'm going with this......EVERYTHING in this book is soooo good!!

Lastly the book I'm salivating for is Deck's book he's a commando in an Elite secretive military unit and he's the go to guy for everyone. He's mysterious and likey!!!! I hope hope hope his book is with the mouthy that woman!!!!!!

Ok ok ok I know I have to stop gushing but I'm in LOVE with this book and ALL of these characters!!! I can't wait to read more from this author!!!!

arc from Netgalley....and yes it's an honest review:))

Sins & Needles - Karina Halle

I wanted to love this book...I waited until the 3rd book was almost out to start the series. That way I could devour them all in one sitting!!!!! You see my excitement level was high!!!

"But".....yeah I know why does there also have to be a "but"!!!!!!

However in this case there is because it just didn't work for me!

*hangs head in shame*

So for most of the book this is how I looked...

We will start with the good...

The things I liked about the book.
1. The writing - it was good, original and it did hold my attention through out.

2. The storyline was good, it flowed nicely and was interesting. There is a "but" that goes here but I will list it in another area.

3. Javier....DAMN I really liked him!!! I know he was kind of the bad guy, I suppose, but honestly his parts were the ONLY thing that made this book exciting!!!!!! Sad thing is his parts were few and FARRRRRRR between.

4. explanation needed:)

Now the things I didn't like
1. This is the but from above....Even though it was interesting and original I never, even in the end, felt a strong to connection to the characters. None....NADA!

2. Camden was boring....I'm sorry to all the Camden fans but it's just my opinion. He was too sweet in a not so sweet world. No...NADA!

3. Ellie...I couldn't get past the idea she looked dirty, like rolled around in the mud dirty. I'm not even sure why I felt that way. But I did like her character, I just never connected.

I wanted to LOVE it I really did!!!!

But did I...NO

So with all that said I will say that MANY MANY people loved this book and this entire series, so people should give this book a try. She's a great author this one just didn't work for's a ME issue:(

[reblog from Kaia] Some Advice From IT Professionals on How to Handle the Latest Goodreads Shenanigans

Note: I bolded some things that I think are particularly worth pointing out - it's all mine, not Kaia's. I also think it's reprehensible that they even think that they can intimidate a smaller site by pushing the idea on members (who are already skittish about their data right now) that they have nowhere but Goodreads for their reviews. They're pissed that people are pulling reviews - and talking about it - so they're trying to undermine our feelings of safety here. I personally trust Dawid and BookLikes haven't done a single malicious, ill-intentioned or even accidental thing to my reviews. Any bug, deletion (if there ever were any at all) or misappropriation of my reviews came from Goodreads' end. I don't trust them anymore, period.

On the other hand, Dawid has made himself available to us when we have concerns. He hasn't ducked out of answering specific questions regarding policy, BL is willing to develop new features tailored to user interest and he and his team seem to be remarkably responsive, quickly when something like this breaks. I know who's earned my loyalty right now. ~ Barbara

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my husband is a programmer. He works for an international company with a high bar for its IT staff.

I ran GR's latest nonsense--their claim that Booklikes is causing Goodreads content to be deleted--past him, and the verdict is that this is actually probably GR's fault. More than likely is has to do with flaws in their API code that are more like security holes than features. Other sites should never be able to delete GR user content. The fact that it may have somehow happened indicates that the blame lies with Goodreads, and they're trying to use Booklikes as a scapegoat.

My husband also ran this past his colleagues, who agreed that there's only one way to handle this:

Run. Pack up your shit and get the hell out of dodge, because Goodreads is not a site you can trust. Their API code is a mess and they're trying to blame it on someone else so they don't have to take responsibility for exposing their user base to potential security breaches. The best thing you can do for yourself is jump ship.

I'm appalled at Goodreads' behavior. Their lack of professionalism and unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistakes is horrifying. They're a shit snowball rolling down a hill and with each new fuck up, the mess gets uglier and uglier. Find a place that respects you as a user, a place that doesn't try to censor you and doesn't think you're an idiot who can't see through their bullshit. That place is not Goodreads.

NO....just NO!!!

In the Stillness - Andrea Randall

I tried really hard to finish this book multiple times. At first I thought it was my mood so I put it down and waited.......

Annnnnnddddd WAITED.......

Then I tried again.........MULTIPLE times. Guess what it never worked!!! I just could not get past the heroine and her CONSTANT PITY PARTY for herself!!!!!!!!

Then to top it off and this is probably the biggest reason I didn't like this book because she always had such NEGATIVE opinions of her they ruined her life!!! You made the mistake not those innocent children!!!

I wanted to scream, "GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!!" CONSTANTLY!!!!!! I wanted to slap the bitch!!  Anyway my point is I HATE that chick!!!!!!!!! I'm done sorry!!! This gif sums up my feelings on this book.....

This is my opinion and MY opinion only!! The writing was was the character I hated!!!!

Exclusive Status For Your Books On BookLikes

It's time for Thursday Release and it's a feature many of you requested :-) Now when a given book doesn't fit any default status on your Shelf (Read, Planning to read, Currently reading) you can create your own exclusive book status.

How? You can create and organize your books with new statuses in several ways.

Go to your Shelf Page and create your new status with your name, e.g. Not finished. New status will be added and visible at once on your Shelf.

You can also create exclusive status directly in book pop up, select it and Save for a given title. The book will receive new status immediately.

If you want to reset previously given status (Read, Planning to read, Currently reading), click on it and Save. It should go white (inactive) and notion "On Shelf" will appear instead.

You can also create exclusive status on Table view of your shelf (the entrance is on Shelf page). It is also a place where you can re-arrange your books one by one:

or move several books at once:

You can still create thematic shelves which will be added to your Shelf on the left and organize them the same way in table view.
